Projects

I tend to bounce around a bit. Projects tend to find me. Here are some that I have worked on lately or that stand out to me. If there is something that someone would like me to collaborate on, there is currently a bit of a wait list. I love to help, but I am very meticulous about my projects, so patience is key.

Death Waits in the Dark: Six Guns Don’t Miss!

The Story of a Special Operations Attack Helicopter Pilot

for Greg Coker

Death Waits in the Dark a book by my friend and fellow Army Aviator, Greg Coker. Greg was shot down in Iraq in 2004 β€” When I was there with the Outlaws and he was there with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

I helped Greg bring his vision for cover together, and helped him set up his social media, and have been coming up with various designs for him, and as time permits, we are adding more and more.

This was such a fun project, partially because I have great respect for Greg, but also because I was there. I think those sorts of books are the best. But also … DWITD is a really incredible book!

Bitch Slap Knives Logo

for Jack M.

Jack was an Instructor Pilot in the Louisiana National Guard, and we became good friends. He is a real renaissance man. Jack asked me to make his logo, which he imprints in the blades of the knives he forges and in the leather sheaths, which he also makes from scratch!

This was one of the coolest projects I have ever worked on. Seeing my design stamped into metal was very rewarding. But also I love making a great design, and this one turned out really well. I integrated his initials J and M into a hand shape which he was . How cool is that?

If you want to get into the Book of Bitch Slap (I’m #3) you’ll have to find a way to get up with Jack because his online presence is a tad scant. πŸ˜‰

I carry my epic Bitch Slap almost everywhere! I love that thing! Eagle-eyed viewers might have caught a glimpse of my BS in Episode 104 of “Citizen PI” (“The DNA Detectives”) on Investigation Discovery and Discovery+

Curtis and Berry’s Mississippi River Adventure

for Curtis and Berry Payton

I saw a post one day on social media by White River Rentals that caught my attention about an 88-year-old dad and his son who left Indiana in a homemade shanty and embarked upon a 1300-plus mile epic Mississippi River trip in incredibly harsh conditions.

The story was so incredible that I felt compelled to reach out and offer assistance to the pair. I set up a Facebook Page for them and began sharing their story, researching locations, and helping them with other things too.

Then in 2020, Creator’s Playground began cataloging their story in video format. You can see the episodes below. 😊
